Rent or buy? A simple way to decide

October 1, 2026

Most equipment gets used far less than people expect. Before you buy, ask yourself three questions.

1. How many days will you really use it?

Add up the days you expect to use it this year. If it’s a handful of weekends, renting usually costs less than buying, and weekly rates bring the price down further for longer jobs.

2. Where will it live the rest of the year?

Storage has a cost too: garage space, a closet, or a storage unit. When you rent, the equipment goes back when you’re done.

3. Who looks after it?

Owned equipment needs cleaning, servicing and repairs. Rented equipment arrives cleaned and checked, and if something goes wrong during your rental, you call us.

Still not sure?

Call us and tell us what you’re planning. We’ll tell you honestly whether renting makes sense, even if the answer is “buy one.”
